1. About this policy
Re:Sourced Worldwide Pty Ltd (ABN 55 665 643 087), trading as Re:Sourced ("we", "us", "our"), is committed to protecting personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy explains how we collect, hold, use, disclose and protect personal information, and how individuals can access, correct or complain about how we handle their personal information.
By using our website or engaging our services, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
2. The kinds of personal information we collect
The personal information we collect depends on your relationship with us. It typically includes:
- Candidates: name, contact details, citizenship/work-rights status, CV, employment history, qualifications, professional references, salary expectations, location preferences, LinkedIn profile, and information you choose to share during interviews or coaching sessions.
- Clients: name, position, company, business contact details, role briefs, hiring preferences, and feedback on candidates.
- Website visitors: IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring URL, and cookie identifiers (see Section 9).
- Sensitive information: we do not solicit sensitive information (e.g. health, ethnicity, criminal record). If a candidate volunteers sensitive information that's relevant to a role (e.g. accessibility requirements for an interview), we will only use it for that purpose and with their consent.
You can interact with parts of our site anonymously or under a pseudonym. Where it is impracticable for us to deal with you anonymously (e.g. submitting you for a role), we will tell you.
3. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information directly from you wherever practicable - when you contact us, submit a CV, attend a meeting, complete a form, or use the Re:You candidate hub.
We may also collect information from third-party sources, including:
- Public professional sources such as LinkedIn or company websites.
- Referrals from clients, candidates and industry contacts.
- Reference checks (with your consent).
- Website analytics, advertising platforms and security providers.
If we receive unsolicited personal information that we could not have collected ourselves under APP 3, we will destroy or de-identify it as soon as practicable, where lawful to do so.
4. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information
We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for the following primary purposes:
- Providing recruitment, executive search, contracting and RPO services.
- Assessing candidate suitability and presenting candidates to clients (with consent).
- Managing client engagements, contracts, invoicing and feedback loops.
- Communicating with you about roles, market intelligence and our services.
- Maintaining and improving our website, services and security.
- Meeting legal, regulatory, audit and tax obligations.
We may also use de-identified data internally to analyse market trends, time-to-hire benchmarks and pipeline metrics.
5. Disclosure of personal information
We disclose personal information to:
- Prospective employers, when presenting candidates for roles (candidates are notified before any submission).
- Reference checkers, background-check providers and qualification verifiers, where applicable.
- Third-party service providers that help us run our business - including cloud hosting, email, customer relationship management (CRM), analytics, and AI service providers - under written confidentiality and data-protection terms.
- Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, auditors).
- Regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies, where required or permitted by law.
We do not sell personal information.
6. Cross-border disclosure
Some of the third parties we use store data outside Australia. The countries we currently disclose personal information to include the United States and the United Kingdom (cloud hosting, email, AI providers and analytics).
Before disclosing personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs, typically through written contracts that bind the recipient to comparable standards.
7. Direct marketing
We may use your contact details to send you market insights, role alerts, event invitations and service updates. You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or replying to the message asking to be removed.
We do not send marketing material to candidates after they have asked us to stop.
8. Data quality, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to ensure personal information is accurate, up to date, complete and relevant for the purposes for which it is used. Please tell us if your details change.
We protect personal information using a combination of administrative, physical and technical safeguards, including access controls, encryption in transit, vendor due diligence and staff training. We notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and affected individuals of any eligible data breach as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected, plus any period required by law (typically up to seven years for tax and contractual records). When information is no longer needed, we destroy it or de-identify it.
9. Cookies and online analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, secure sessions, and analyse usage. Some cookies are essential; others are analytics-related and can be disabled in your browser settings without breaking core functionality. We do not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising on this site.
10. Accessing, correcting and complaining
You have the right under the APPs to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of any information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading.
- Withdraw your consent to ongoing processing (where consent is the basis we rely on).
- Make a privacy complaint.
We will respond to access and correction requests within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner - oaic.gov.au · 1300 363 992.
11. Children
Our services are aimed at professionals over 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
